I’m Katie Jones
Hi, I’m Katie, and I’ve been passionate about swimming for as long as I can remember. I started teaching when I was just 14, and since then, I’ve helped swimmers of all ages and abilities build confidence, improve technique, and fall in love with the water.
Alongside running SUBMERJ, I also volunteer my time to support local swim initiatives, because I believe everyone deserves the chance to feel confident, strong, and safe in the water.
Whether you’re diving in for the first time or training for a personal best, I’m here to support your journey, every stroke of the way.

History of SUBMERJ
SUBMERJ was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to encourage people to reconnect with the water and rebuild their confidence after time away from the pool.
What began as a passion project alongside a career in swim teaching has grown into a supportive space for swimmers of all abilities. Since then, SUBMERJ has expanded to offer in-pool instruction, mentoring, and ongoing encouragement for those looking to improve, return to, or simply enjoy swimming again.
Unlike athlete-focused platforms, SUBMERJ is built for everyone – not just competitive swimmers. Whether you’re swimming solo or seeking a swim buddy for motivation, we’re here to help make your sessions more purposeful, productive, and enjoyable.
Our mission is to create an inclusive, accessible swim environment that inspires progress, builds resilience, and gets more people back to the pool… together.
Our future aim is to begin offering adult swimming lessons that are truly inclusive, welcoming individuals of all abilities and adapting to meet a wide range of physical, sensory, and learning needs. Our approach focuses on accessibility, comfort, and personal progress, making swimming a positive experience for all.
